IIAS Open Call for Individual Fellowships

The IIAS invites scholars from Israel and abroad to submit proposals for an individual fellowship at the IIAS for the 2027-2028 academic year. Topics may cover any research area from any discipline and must seek to be innovative, with the potential to impact research in the field. Two or three scholars who collaborate on the same project should apply individually and state clearly that they wish to work together.

SOF Early-Career Fellowships

The Society of Fellows in the Humanities at Columbia University brings together exceptional early-career scholars in the humanities and humanistic social sciences to be part of a vibrant cross-disciplinary community. In addition to teaching opportunities in affiliated departments and time for research, Fellows participate in and often organize lecture series, workshops, and other scholarly events that contribute to the intellectual life of the SOF/Heyman and the university more broadly.

Smithsonian American Art Museum Research Fellowships

The Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) and its Renwick Gallery invite applications to its premier fellowship program, the oldest and largest in the world for the study of American art. Scholars from any discipline whose research engages the art, craft, and visual culture of the United States are encouraged to apply, as are those who foreground new perspectives, materials, and methodologies. Fellowships are residential and support full-time research in the Smithsonian collections.

William Lyon Mackenzie King Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Canada Program at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs hosts two William Lyon Mackenzie King Postdoctoral Fellowships. The fellowships are two-year positions and are open to scholars in all disciplines who are engaged in Canadian studies broadly defined. Scholars working on comparative US-Canada research may receive preference. To be eligible, applicants must have been awarded the PhD no earlier than five years before the start date of the appointment.

Stanford Humanities Fellowships for External Faculty

External fellowships are intended primarily for individuals currently teaching in or affiliated with an academic institution, but independent scholars may apply. Faculty fellowships are awarded across the spectrum of academic ranks (assistant, associate, and full professor). The selection process intends to create a community of scholars from diverse institutions, roles, experiences and perspectives. Applications are open to any and all candidates that meet the below requirements. We welcome and encourage applicants of all identities and backgrounds.

King's College Cambridge Junior Research Fellowships

Each year, the college holds competitions for Research Fellowships, both Stipendiary and non-Stipendiary. These support gifted young researchers for four years; generally Research Fellows are appointed within two years of the award of a doctorate.

The Fellowships give young researchers an opportunity to establish their career before moving on to become fully independent researchers. Research Fellows have freedom to carry out their chosen research projects within the academic environment of the College and the University departments.

CASBS Fellowships

The Center offers a residential fellowship program for scholars working in a diverse range of disciplines that contribute to advancing research and thinking in social science. Fellows represent the core social and behavioral sciences (anthropology, economics, geography, history, law, political science, psychology, and sociology) but also the humanities, education, linguistics, communications, and the biological, natural, health, and computer sciences.
