Canon Foundation Research Fellowships in Japan

Annually, the Canon Foundation in Europe grants up to 15 Fellowships to highly qualified European and Japanese researchers. European Fellows are expected to pursue a period of research in Japan whereas Japanese Fellows are expected to do their research in Europe.

Canon Foundation Fellowships are for a minimum period of three months up to maximum of one year.

We support all fields of research. There are no limitations or restrictions. Applicants do not have to be currently enrolled or employed at the time of applying.

Thomas K. McCraw Fellowship in U.S. Business History

This award honors the work and contributions of Thomas K. McCraw (1940-2012), who was Isidor Straus Professor of Business History at Harvard Business School. The fellowship enables established scholars from around the world whose primary interest is the business and economic history of the United States to spend time in residence at Harvard Business School. The main activities of the Thomas K. McCraw Fellow will be to conduct research in the archives of Baker Library or in other Boston-area libraries, present their work at a seminar, and interact with HBS faculty.

Alfred D. Chandler Jr. International Visiting Scholar in Business History Program

The Alfred D. Chandler Jr. International Visiting Scholar in Business History Program invites established scholars in business history based outside the United States to spend a period of time in residence at Harvard Business School. The Chandler International Visiting Scholar is expected to interact with faculty and researchers, present work at research seminars, and conduct business history research.

Abe Fellowship for US-Japan Related Research on Policy-relevant Topics of Pressing Global Concern

After a successful thirty-year program and 447 awarded fellowships, the Abe Fellowship Program will no longer be accepting applications. The CGP and the SSRC will work together to ensure the legacy of this program and that Abe Fellows will have the opportunity to form international collaborations in the future.
