The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) is an internationally respected research institute of the Max Planck Society (MPG) with three research departments, several research groups, and a graduate school. At the MPIWG, around three hundred scholars from all over the world investigate the sciences past and present, working together on a collective, collaborative, and transdisciplinary basis. The MPIWG is renowned worldwide as a hub for reflection on the role of the sciences in politics and society.

John Carter Brown Research Fellowship for Indigenous Communities

The John Carter Brown (JCB) Library, located on the campus of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, stewards a research collection focused on the histories and cultures of the Early Americas. The Library is free and open to the public with appointments required for research visits, and operates a robust fellowship program to support researchers across myriad research topics. The JCB invites tribal communities and community members to apply to its Research Fellowship for Indigenous Communities.

IFAS-Research (UMIFRE 25, MEAE/CNRS – French Institute of South Africa) has a regional mandate covering twelve countries in Southern Africa: Angola, Botswana, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. IFAS-Research promotes and supports research projects in the Humanities and Social Sciences dealing with this vast area.

Wallonie Bruxelles International (WBI) soutient les chercheurs(euses) issu(e)s de tous pays et titulaires d'un diplôme de l'enseignement supérieur de docteur délivré par une institution étrangère désirant effectuer un programme de type postdoctoral au sein d'établissements d'enseignement supérieur organisés ou subventionnés par la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

Joint Application Scheme for Early Career Research Fellowships

Ten Fellowships are offered by the colleges. Candidates are warned that competition is likely to be intense; last year over 1,000 applications were received.

Candidates are advised that they are responsible for checking their eligibility to take up the post under UK immigration rules.

The administration of the Scheme is conducted by the Fellowship Administrator at Churchill College. Please note that the office will be closed from 18th December 2023 to 2nd January 2024.
