Memberships “Young Academy for Cultures and Societies Research” (YAC)

The Freiburg Postdoctoral Academy (FPA) invites early career researchers from various disciplines to apply for 10 memberships in the newly launched Young Academy for Cultures and Societies Research (YAC). The programme, running from October 2025 to September 2028, focuses on the topic “The Good Life – What Makes a Good Society” and offers individual and group research budgets, networking opportunities, and project support.

Third Annual Fine Fellowship for the Study of the 10/27/18 Synagogue Attack

The synagogue attack that took place in Pittsburgh on 10/27/18 left many scholars and American Jews with lingering, urgent questions about antisemitism, violence, and trauma. To support inquiry into this pivotal event in American Jewish history, the Jewish Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh, in partnership with the Rauh Jewish Archives at the Heinz History Center, announces the availability of the third Fine Fellowship for the study of the 10/27/2018 attack.

GHI Warsaw Fellowship Program

The German Historical Institute Warsaw (GHI) offers fellowships to researchers whose work aligns with the Institute’s research objectives and available budget resources. We support research in German and East Central European history that requires a stay in Poland, Lithuania, or the Czech Republic. The grants are intended primarily for non-tenured, early-career fellows, and are awarded for periods ranging from one to four months (depending on the research project). We do not provide write-up grants.

On-line interviews with shortlisted candidates: June 23-27, 2025

Duration: 12+12 months. 12 months fellowship awarded upon selection, with the option for another 12 months extension of the fellowship pending successful performance of the fellow in the first 12 months.

Fellowship: 50 000 CZK per month. The selected fellow will be offered a regular employment agreement for 12 months in accordance with the law of the Czech Republic.
