The Seminar for Near and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Basel is offering up to four fully-funded one-year postdoctoral positions in the framework of the collective research group Futures Interrupted: social pluralism and political projects beyond coloniality and the nation-state. The  postdoctoral positions offer an opportunity to researchers eager to engage with the general framework of the research group and ready to develop their own medium- to large-scale project for future funding in a supportive environment.

The Department of Prof. Dr. Tanja Michalsky at the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History welcomes projects in – but not necessarily limited to – its core research areas: Southern Italy and Naples, Cinematic Space, Historical Spaces, Epistemes of Cartography, and New Methodologies in Medieval Studies.

Funding periods last 2–3 years (predoctoral) or 1–2 years (postdoctoral). To be eligible, predoctoral candidates must be enrolled as PhD candidates at a university.

Awards of $5,000 available to scholars working on research projects in Byzantine studies, Pre-Columbian studies, Garden and Landscape studies, or related fields.

Dumbarton Oaks invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join a team working to provide comprehensive access to photographic and archival documentation of the Byzantine world held by Dumbarton Oaks’ Image Collections and Fieldwork Archives (ICFA), which holds more than a million unique items in a variety of media, including extensive material relating to the art and architecture of the late Antique and Medieval eastern Mediterranean.

Thanks to the generosity of President Emerita Lorna Marsden, the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies hosted Robarts Visiting Professors in Canadian Studies from 2015-16 to 2019-20. The Professorship was open to full-time (tenured or tenure-track) faculty members working on issues concerning Canada, based outside the country, with demonstrated scholarly expertise on Canada and a commitment to Canadian studies.

The Professorship continues to provide the selected faculty member with $2500 CAD to assist in covering travel and accommodations costs while in residence.
