Dumbarton Oaks is offering Mellon Summer fellowships for scholars investigating Black Atlantic Geographies. During Summer 2023, the program will support researchers, including predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars, whose work explores the lives and built environments of Caribbean, Latin American, West African, and Afro-European people.
With support from the Mellon Foundation’s Humanities in Place program, Dumbarton Oaks invites applications for an early career postdoctoral fellow in environmental history with a research focus on race, indigeneity, settler colonialism, and /or the Global South as revealed in a people’s history of place and land. Dumbarton Oaks is a research institute in Washington D.C.

I Tatti–The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies and Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection offer a joint, residential fellowship for the 2024–2025 academic year. Scholars will spend six months (July–December) as I Tatti Fellows and the spring term (January 21–May 9, 2025) as Dumbarton Oaks Fellows.

The research library at the Georg Eckert Institute represents a unique tool for international textbook research. The Institute relies on permanent and close academic contact with domestic and foreign researchers and practitioners in the fulfilment of its important role. In order to promote the exchange of ideas internationally and to further develop international textbook research – with an emphasis on comparative approaches –, the Institute has developed a fellowship programme with the support of the Association of Friends of the Georg Eckert Institute.
The GEI awards the Otto Bennemann Grant to promote innovative studies in international textbook research. Otto Bennemann (1903-2003), after whom the grant was named, supported the work of the Institute when he was Mayor of Braunschweig and continued to do so as Lower Saxony's Minister of the Interior. The grant is financed by the foundation he established.
The Research Platform "Transformations and Eastern Europe" brings together researchers from different fields of history, cultural studies, social sciences and legal studies and it is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of transformation processes in Eastern Europe in the past and present. Together with the Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET), the research platform represents a space for innovative, interdisciplinary and international scientific thinking about transformation processes at the University of Vienna.
