KADOC, the Interfaculty Documentation and Research Centre on Religion, Culture and Society at KU Leuven, is one of the leading cultural heritage institutions in Belgium and an international research centre focusing on the interactions between religion and society from the 18th century until present.

We are looking for a postdoctoral research fellow to work on the AHRC-funded project ‘Global Socio-Economic Rights, Local Contexts: Work in East Africa and Western Europe, 1880 to the Present’

The Opportunity:

This post is fixed-term and full-time (35 hours per week), from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2027.

The aim of this project, which will award two fellowships, is to reconsider European curatorial practices, insofar as they are scientifically observable and documentable, from different humanities or curatorial vantage points and to bring them into a fruitful dialogue. This may also take into account the historical dimension of mutual inspiration, for example, where collection and selection have already led to encounter and exchange in terms of cultural history.

The Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) considers arts and science as complementary approaches to knowledge acquisition. Both approaches can benefit from a deeper mutual understanding. With the program “art in progress”, the HWK strives to foster dialogue between the arts and sciences. To this aim, artists who engage with science and research in the context of their work, be it in an artistic-practical or a methodological-analytical way, are supported.

International research cooperation enriches the work and life of our Institute. Our Visiting Researchers Program is one of the ways in which we aim to encourage an active exchange between scholars in Germany and abroad. The program is designed for researchers working in the fields of economic sociology or comparative/international political economy, who are invited to spend between two and twelve months at the MPIfG.

El programa es dirigido por IEAT y está patrocinado por CALAS. La cátedra comprende una estadía de investigación de tres meses en el IEAT.
