Terra Foundation Research Travel Grants on American Art and Visual Culture

The Terra Foundation for American Art Research Travel Grants provide support to doctoral, postdoctoral, and senior scholars from both the US and outside the US for research topics dedicated to the art and visual culture of the United States prior to 1980. The grants foster firsthand engagement with American artworks and art-historical resources; build networks for non-US-based scholars studying American art; and expand access to artworks, scholarly materials, and communities for US-based scholars studying American art in an international context.

Wayne F. Placek Grants

The Wayne F. Placek Grant encourages research to increase the general public’s understanding of homosexuality and sexual orientation, and to alleviate the stress that LGBTQIA+ individuals experience in this and future civilizations.

Branco Weiss Fellowship in Science

The Branco Weiss Fellowship offers an opportunity for postdocs in all areas of the natural and social sciences and engineering who have conceived an original and independent research idea that falls outside the scope of large-scale research projects. The fellowship gives an unusual degree of freedom: Fellows are encouraged to choose the best possible location for their research, anywhere in the world. They will receive support for up to five years.

Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society

The CRRES Postdoctoral Scholars Program is a fellowship program that aims to create a legacy of scholars who will be positioned to address broad issues related to race and ethnicity using a multidisciplinary lens. These two-year fellowships are designed to nurture the academic careers of new scholars by allowing them the opportunity to pursue their research while gaining mentored experience as teachers, CRRES fellows, and members of the faculty in host departments.

Houblon-Norman and George Fellowships

Houblon-Norman and George Fellowships are awarded to promote research into and disseminate knowledge and understanding of the working, interaction and function of financial business institutions in the UK and elsewhere and the economic conditions affecting them.

The Houblon Norman Fund (registered charity 213168) is administered by trustees, on the advice of an expert committee.

Wenner-Gren Foundation Post-Ph.D. Research Grants in Anthropology

This grant program funds individual research projects undertaken by doctorates in anthropology or a closely related field. Our goal is to support vibrant and significant work that furthers our understanding of what it means to be human. There is no preference for any methodology, research location, topic, or subfield. The Foundation particularly welcomes proposals that integrate two or more subfields and pioneer new approaches and ideas.
