Botstiber Grants on Austrian-American Relations

The Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies (BIAAS) seeks grant proposals for research or projects aimed at promoting an understanding of the historic relationship between the United States and Austria (including Habsburg Austria).

Fields of Interest

Eligible fields include history, politics, economics, law, or cultural studies.

What We Fund

Proposals may include support for books and other publications, films, exhibits, or web/media projects. Salary replacement and/or tuition reimbursement are not eligible.

British Library Endangered Archives Programme

The purpose of the Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) is to secure, digitise, and make available for research endangered, pre-modern archival material from around the world. Each year, the Programme awards grants to preserve and digitise such material. Where
appropriate, the collections are transferred to a suitable local archive. The local archival partner makes digital copies of the material available in the country where the archive is located and the British Library makes these archives available on the EAP website for international access and research.

Suntory Foundation Grants for Groundbreaking Young Researchers

This grant is aimed at supporting young researchers who aspire to redefine the boundaries of scholarship in the fields of humanities and social sciences.

Applications are accepted from people of all nationalities, institutions, and places of residence, but application information and forms are provided only in Japanese and applications must be submitted in Japanese.

Eligibility

Young researchers under 35 years with individual research projects in the humanities and social sciences.

Grant amount

Up to 100 million yen per grant

Call for nominations: Fernando Gil International Prize in Philosophy of Science

The Prize intends to award a work of particular excellence in the domain of the Philosophy of Science, whether regarding general epistemological problems or particular scientific areas. The 2017 prize was awarded to Emily Rolfe Grosholz, Professor of Philosophy, African American Studies and English, and a member of the Center for Fundamental Theory / Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos at the Pennsylvania State University.
