Call for nominations: Gerda Henkel Prize

The Gerda Henkel Prize was set up in 2006 and is awarded every two years to excellent and internationally acclaimed researchers who have demonstrated outstanding scholarly achievement in the disciplines and funding areas supported by the Foundation and can be expected to continue to do so. The Gerda Henkel Prize is worth 100,000 euros. The prize money may be used at the winner’s discretion.

Call for nominations: Heineken Prizes

The international Heineken Prizes, worth $ 200,000 each, reward outstanding achievement in the fields of:

  • Biochemistry and Biophysics 
  • Cognitive Science 
  • Environmental Sciences 
  • History 
  • Medicine 

They are intended explicitly for scientists and scholars who are currently active in their field and whose research still holds considerable promise for future innovative discoveries. International juries will select the winners.

These prizes are offered by the Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation.

Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Arts

The Kone Foundation postdoctoral fellowship in the arts aims to develop new forms of cooperation and dialogue between art and scholarship. The positions are primarily intended for persons holding a doctoral degree in the arts. However, also persons engaged in artistic work but having completed a doctoral degree in a different academic field are eligible to apply.

En collaboration avec l'Institut Européen des Sciences de la Culture Padre Manuel Antunes (IECCPMA), l’Université Aberta (UAb) et la Chaire Infante D. Henrique pour les Études Insulaires Atlantiques et la Globalisation (CIDH), le Fonds de Dotation de l’EHESS attribuera en 2017 deux prix post-doctoraux, dotés d'un montant de 9.000 euros chacun, destinés à soutenir la réalisation de travaux de recherche de jeunes chercheurs confirmés en SHS s'inscrivant dans la thèmatique générale suivante : « Etudes globales.

Claudio Leonardi/Zeno Karl Schindler Fellowship for Medieval Latin Studies

The Claudio Leonardi Fellowship of the Zeno Karl Schindler Foundation for Medieval Latin Studies has been established to support scholarship in Medieval Latin Studies – in particular, research by young scholars – with a grant-in-aid in honor of Claudio Leonardi (1926-2010), founder and first President of the Società Internazionale per lo Studio del Medioevo Latino (S.I.S.M.E.L., Florence).
