Post-doctoral fellowships in Study of Violence
The Center for the Study of Violence of the University of São Paulo is selecting three post-doctoral fellows to develop research projects in "Building Democracy Daily: human rights, violence and institutional trust" program, with duration of one to three years.
The objective of the research program is to analyze how the legitimacy of key institutions for democracy is constructed or jeopardized, by exploring the contacts between citizens and civil servants from local public services in representative areas of the city of São Paulo.
The study will have a longitudinal nature, in order to enable a deeper comprehension of the phenomena and changes through time.
The candidates must propose specific projects in one of the following themes:
- Public policies and innovations - 1 position.
- Innovations in criminal justice and resistance to change - 1 position.
- Theory and methodology in longitudinal studies on legitimacy and institutional trust - 1 position.
Fellowship conditions
The 3 vacancies are open to highly qualified Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctorate Fellowship from FAPESP (R$ 6.143,40 per month) and a Technical Reserve. The Technical Reserve of the Fellowship amounts to 15% of the annual fellowship and aims to meet unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
The PD Fellow will have at its disposal the facilities and infrastructure of NEV and USP in the activities related to research, dissemination and education. The PD Fellow shall have as supervisor of its work program one of the leading researchers of the CEPID project or one of the NEV-USP’s research coordinators indicated by these leaders. The PD Fellow who needs to move to the city where the research institution is located may be entitled to an Installation Aid.
