Visiting Fellowships in Russian and Eastern European Studies
The Aleksanteri Institute Visiting Fellows Programme provides an opportunity for highly qualified scholars in Russian and Eastern European studies to visit the Aleksanteri Institute and the University of Helsinki for a period of one to three months. During the fellowship, Visiting Fellows work on their research projects and can benefit from interaction with scholars at the Aleksanteri Institute and elsewhere in Finland. Each Visiting Fellow has two academic hosts who are working on a related theme and who help them to settle in and establish contacts with the research community in Finland. Visits are supported with a monthly grant of 3300 €.
Starting from the academic year 2008–2009, the Visiting Fellows Programme has hosted over 130 Visiting Fellows working on various fields and themes within the social sciences and humanities, and representing 29 countries from Europe through North America to China.
The call for visiting fellowships for 2019–2020 will be open from 14 January until 12 February, 2019.
The Fellowship involves a one to three months research stay at the Aleksanteri Institute, the Finnish Centre for Russian and Eastern European studies, which is ranked as one of the best research environments in Europe. As a Visiting Fellow, you have an outstanding opportunity to concentrate on your research, get to know the Finnish research landscape and build new cooperation networks.
