The Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), in collaboration with the Research Division of The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens (The Huntington), invites applications for the annual Eleanor Searle Visiting Professor in History. The appointment runs from a minimum of six months up to a full academic year (September 2018–June 2019) and includes a half-time teaching position (two ten-week undergraduate courses) at Caltech as well as a half-time research position at The Huntington.

Bard Graduate Center invites applications for a two-year (2018–20) postdoctoral fellowship jointly appointed at Bard Graduate Center and in the Anthropology Division and the Richard Gilder Graduate School of the American Museum of Natural History. The Fellow’s project should focus on Native Textiles of the North American Southwest and should make use of the AMNH collection. PhD in Anthropology or related fields required.

The Chao Center for Asian Studies (CCAS) at Rice University is currently accepting applications for the Henry Luce Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in Southeast Asian Studies to begin January 1, 2018 (pending funding approval). The search is open to any aspects of academic research in Southeast Asia with a transnational orientation. By “transnational,” we mean an approach that devotes particular attention to the movement of people, products, ideas, beliefs, ethics, technologies, etc. across established borders and boundaries.

Wesleyan University invites applications for an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in American Studies beginning July 1, 2018. We seek a scholar whose research focuses on the cultures and/or history of indigenous people in North America. The successful candidate will offer courses originating in the American Studies Department. The fellowship includes limited teaching duties and opportunities for scholarly research and professional development. Annual stipend of $50,000, research/travel funds, and health insurance. Renewable for a second year.
