Social Justice in Education Post-Doctoral Fellows Program

Mellon Sawyer Postdoctoral Fellowship

With the support of the Mellon Foundation’s Sawyer Seminar program, the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University-New Brunswick seeks applications for a one-year Mellon Sawyer Postdoctoral Fellowship in Black Liberation Studies. The fellow will play a leading role in organizing, administering, and participating in the Mellon Sawyer seminar entitled “The Afterlives of Liberation: Anti-Racist Praxis for the 21st Century,” which explores post-1968 legacies of racial liberation struggles in the academy, arts and culture, and activism and organizing.

Mellon Humanities Postdoctoral Fellow in Childhood Studies and Racial Justice

The Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers University—Camden invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship, renewable for a second year, to commence September 1, 2024. The position will be funded by a Higher Learning grant awarded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation as part of the “Rethinking Race and Justice Through Childhood Studies” initiative.

Addison Wheeler Fellowships

Durham University invites applications for three Addison Wheeler Fellowships, 36-month postdoctoral positions commencing on 1 October 2023. This scheme is intended to provide early career researchers of outstanding promise with an opportunity to complete a major project. It is open to scholars from any discipline and of any nationality. 

Henry Charles Chapman Fellowship

The Henry Charles Chapman Fellowship is awarded biennially to members of academic staff of any university for work in the social sciences and recent history relating to the countries of the Commonwealth other than Britain and which is of relevance to the research interests of the Institute.

Chapman Fellows are welcome to use the Institute’s facilities and in addition are offered a desk in a shared office. Chapman Fellows are expected to play an appropriate part in the Institute’s activities.

A. D. Trendall Fellowship

The A. D. Trendall Fellowship was inaugurated in 2000. The Trendall Fellow is normally appointed in alternate years and the Fellowship is open to scholars from universities outside the UK. Preference will be given to applicants working in the same areas of interest as  Professor Trendall, including ancient Italy and classical art history. The successful candidate is expected to spend a minimum of six weeks at the Institute. Applicants are invited to make a proposal for an event or training activity to be carried out at the ICS during their stay.
