CKS French Scholar Research Fellowships

The Center for Khmer Studies (CKS) provides research fellowships to French scholars in all disciplines in the social sciences and the humanities who seek to pursue further research focusing on Cambodia alone or on Cambodia within a regional context. Scholars can conduct research in other countries in mainland Southeast Asia (including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, and southern China) provided that some portion of their research is undertaken in Cambodia.

The W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research (AIAR) supports an annual Fellows program that brings US, Israeli, Palestinian and other international scholars together in the shared pursuit of research excellence. The AIAR offers around 12 fellowships every year, each with different requirements regarding nationality, academic status, and terms of residency (between one to six months). Continuous residency at the Albright is required without frequent trips outside the country, and each fellowship includes a stipend that is used in part to cover room and board.

Canon Foundation Research Fellowships

Annually, the Canon Foundation in Europe grants up to 15 Fellowships to highly qualified European and Japanese researchers. European Fellows are expected to pursue a period of research in Japan whereas Japanese Fellows are expected to do their research in Europe. 

Canon Foundation Fellowships are for a minimum period of three months up to maximum of one year. 

We support all fields of research. There are no limitations or restrictions. Applicants do not have to be currently enrolled or employed at the time of applying. 

International Visiting Research Fellowship Programme

Within the framework of its Visiting Research Fellow Program, the IOS encourages applications from historians, economists and political scientists as well as scholars of cognate disciplines. The duration of the research stay usually lasts between two and four weeks. The fellows are expected to conduct research relevant to the research profile of the institute. The allowance is determined by the length stay and the applicant’s professional experience.
