Individual projects

Full-time faculty at academic institutions are eligible to apply for research grants. Priority will be given to collaborative projects involving institutions in Taiwan. Projects on Taiwan Studies are especially encouraged. Research grants are usually given for no more than three years and should not exceed EUR120,000 for a three-year period. Grant funds may not be used to pay salaries to directors or co-directors, or to cover teaching relief.

Research fellowships offer support for research and writing in Buddhist studies for scholars who hold a PhD degree, with no restrictions on time from the PhD.

The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships in Buddhist Studies provide two years of funding to recent recipients of the PhD for residence at a university for the purpose of revising the dissertation into a publishable manuscript or for beginning the first new project after completion of the PhD degree.  The teaching of one course per year is encouraged.  Priority is given to residence at universities or colleges providing a collegial atmosphere and working conditions enabling the postdoctoral Fellow’s entry into an academic career in Buddhist studies. 

As part of its mission, the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles (CRCV) offers annual grants based on scientific criteria to assist and support original research projects that fall within its subject areas.

The AXA Chair is the premium funding scheme of the AXA Research Fund. It aims at :

• creating a dedicated full-time senior academic position in an institution
• supporting a significant acceleration in the development of a research field
• fostering a step-change in the career of the appointed AXA Professor

The Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSC) offers one-year Jean Monnet Fellowships to scholars who have obtained their doctorate more than 5 years prior to the start of the fellowship, i.e. 1 September 2023 for the academic year 2023-24. The Fellowship programme is open to post-docs, tenure track academics and those wishing to spend their sabbatical at the RSC. We invite you to become part of a lively and creative academic community. The Centre offers up to 20 Fellowships a year.
