PRIMA┋Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area call for proposals


PRIMA Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda identified 12 priorities for facing Mediterranean challenges related to Water management, Farming systems and Agro-food chains. In this context, ANR participates to the 2022 Section 2 joint transnational call for proposals to fund innovative research projects addressing the following 3 topics.

  • New governance models to define best practices for sustainable water management and conflict mitigation.
  • A step toward carbon-neutral farms: coupling renewable energy sources with circular farming systems
  • Assessing novel antimicrobial food packaging and coating materials to reduce food waste to improve safety in the Mediterranean food supply chain

Consortia must include at least four legal entities established in three different countries considered as Participating States, out of which:

  • at least one must be established in the following EU Member State or a third country associated with Horizon 2020: Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia;
  • at least two must be established in the following third country bordering the Mediterranan Sea: Algeria, Jordan, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey.

For projects selected for funding, each partner of the consortium will be funded directly by its respective national funding organisation. Therefore, all national regulations apply. In particular, the French applicants must read carefully the document entitled “Modalités de participation pour les partenaires sollicitant une aide de l’ANR” available on this webpage.
