Distinguished Fellowships at Max-Weber-Kolleg

The Max Weber Centre for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies of the University of Erfurt (Max-Weber-Kolleg) announces Fellowships for the academic year 2026/27.
Fellowships can be awarded for 3 to 10 months; they should be scheduled to start 1 October 2026 or 1 April 2027 until end of July 2027.
The financial agreement aims to enable the invited Fellows to stay at the Max-Weber-Kolleg based on the principle of “no gain, no loss”. Fellows will be provided housing, if possible, in the International Guest House of the University of Erfurt. Costs related to the stay in Erfurt (travel costs and a lump sum) will be reimbursed.
Area of Responsibility
- excellent interdisciplinary research within the framework of our Weberian re-search programme "Comparative Cultural Analysis of Weltbeziehungen" (see web-site) from sociology, religious studies, history, economics, law, philosophy and theology or related disciplines
- interdisciplinary cooperation with scholars from different regions, cultures and generations
What we expect
- PhD degree and – if applicable – habilitation or equivalent
- excellent research record
- experience and interest in interdisciplinary research
- scientific curiosity and willingness to exchange ideas
